Are you in new territory, surrounded by people who don\u2019t quite speak your language, feeling adrift, not sure what\u2019s going on and how you got here?<\/p>

Maybe you\u2019re trying to figure out whether your being punished, or being stretched by the Lord, maybe taken a wrong turn.<\/p>

I\u2019ve always believed God is not limited to our choices, He can and will work His purpose in and around you if you keep Him number 1 in your life.<\/p>

I want to encourage you from a scripture that I think has been misquoted often or maybe better to say quoted out of context.<\/p>

Most of us know this scripture it\u2019s found in Jeremiah 29.11<\/p>

\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>For I know the plans\u00a0I have for you,\u201d declares the\u00a0Lord, \u201cplans to prosper\u00a0you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.<\/em><\/p>

And to be honest I probably would never have used it in a blog as I think it is over quoted \u2013 but here I am\u2026<\/p>

The context is the people, priests, prophets and elders of Judea and Jerusalem had been scattered and captured, taken off to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar (at the Lord\u2019s instruction \u2013 because of their behaviour).<\/p>

Jeremiah came with a Word for them and they gathered expectantly \u2013 expecting the Lord was going to deliver them, to fight for them, to sort out these captors \u2013 just as he had done so many times before.<\/p>

WHAT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Maybe you\u2019re expecting the same as you face change \u2013 praying for deliverance, for release, to be rescued, avenged.<\/p>

But now hear what Jeremiah said \u2013 settle in, pray for these captors, continue on with new life, increase in captivity, seek the welfare of captors, <\/em>\u00a0even down to build houses and plant gardens, marry off your sons and daughters<\/em>.<\/p>

What verse 11 means is \u201cGOD Knows\u201d<\/u> and leave it at that. Obey don\u2019t rebel so he can bring about the plans.\u00a0 Don\u2019t help him.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be like Adam and Eve who gained knowledge but lost paradise in their rebellion seeking to \u2018help\u2019 God.<\/p>

HOW<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Pray for the people, situation, environment you now find yourself in \u2013 bless them\/it with health, prosperity, fulfilment as if your life depends on it.<\/p>

Commit yourself and your family to the new situation \u2013 make plans to dwell in it \u2013 learn how to live and flourish in it.<\/p>

Multiply yourself \u2013 your time, your talent, your growth, your things, your thoughts.<\/p>

Control and subdue the current situation.\u00a0 Wherever you are and whatever situation you are in, you are called and equipped to control the scripture says.<\/p>

Then God said,\u00a0\u201cLet Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;\u00a0let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over\u00a0all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.\u201d <\/em>Genesis 1.26<\/p>

Dominion (Radah) means to rule, to govern, to master, to manage, sovereign authority, to lead.<\/p>

And Flourish.<\/p>

WHY<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Time and time again I\u2019ve been pushed, chosen, blind sided into hard situations \u2013 uncertainty \u2013 sometimes losing all<\/u> I\u2019ve known.\u00a0 And time and time again by staying obedient and focusing on my heavenly Father \u2013 his plans revealed produced a better me \u2013 without these changes my faith would not have grown, my certainty in who I am wouldn\u2019t exist.<\/p>

The paradox is that Change has produced steadfastness, a solidification of who I am \u2013 and it will for you as well.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
