I love the word Intentional \u2013 be warned though whenever I use it you will come to realise it means work\u2026<\/p>

TUNE IN \u2013 INTENTIONALLY<\/em><\/p>

Because of advances in tech we now have TV\u2019s and radio\u2019s that tune into stations for us.\u00a0 Some of you will have never experienced the joy of manually finding the \u2018exact\u2019 right spot on a bandwidth to listen to Saturday Night\u2019s Top 20 on a radio in your bedroom.<\/p>

There is almost an art to finding that spot and if you wanted a clear sound or picture free from static you had to persevere \u2013 and the thing could shift so you would find that \u2018exact\u2019 spot but next time you turned on the TV or radio it wouldn\u2019t be right.\u00a0 And sometimes, actually a lot of the time, it would move from the \u2018exact\u2019 spot whilst you were watching or listening.<\/p>

If you were low on the pecking order you may have to stand with the rabbit ear aerial (see picture for reference) on one leg, leaning to the right, whilst everyone else got to watch the show.<\/p>

This art or skill is dying out, now you press a button and the TV or car radio does it for you.\u00a0 And it\u2019s a shame.\u00a0 Without the manual application how do you know you have the \u2018exact\u2019 right spot.<\/p>

Its like that with the Holy Spirit \u2013 the channel is there, bandwidth open \u2013 but we set ourselves on automatic thinking we have the clearest sound and picture.\u00a0 We don\u2019t manually tune in with INTENTION.<\/p>

When you do something intentionally it means you devote time, energy and concentration to the task.\u00a0 It has your attention.\u00a0 Intentionally choosing to manually tune in to the Holy Spirit in order to hear what the Father wants to say takes skill and practice.\u00a0 It is a deliberate act.<\/p>

You might be saying right now \u2013 \u2018well, I can get answers\u2019 \u2013 that is awesome.\u00a0 But what if I told you that if you practiced with intention this manual tune in \u2013 that you would immediately know the spot had moved and there was static interference or worse still you had moved to another channel.<\/p>

What if I told you \u2013 you could be going about your day: brushing your teeth, washing up, attending a meeting, and you could hear with extreme clarity the Holy Spirit \u2013 and know that the voice is the Holy Spirit because you knew you were tuned in.<\/p>

What if I told you that manually tuning in intentionally built a skill in you that allowed you not only to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit but that He speaks sometimes in great detail telling you mysteries and giving you knowledge that leads to revelation and wisdom.<\/p>

What if I told you that this skill can be obtained by everyone and you don\u2019t have to be a minister, or have the gift of prophecy to use it.<\/p>

Wouldn\u2019t you want that!!!<\/p>

Then stop pushing the automatic button and start with intention tuning in.\u00a0 As you go about your day give the Holy Spirit permission to interrupt; ask the Lord to quieten all other voices, distractions and static<\/p>

  • Speak in tongues \u2013 randomly, under your breath if you have to<\/li>
  • Read the Word \u2013 its how you can be sure it\u2019s the right channel<\/li>
  • Make prayer an ongoing conversation all through the day<\/li>
  • Align yourself with the person and work of Jesus Christ<\/li><\/ul>

    One of my favourite people to on a prayer walk with is my Pastor Candace, she intentionally looks for signs from the Holy Spirit that leads her to pray in line with the Fathers will.\u00a0 I would encourage you to find someone who has experience in tuning in and spend time with them \u2013 learn the art.<\/p>

    • Instructs \u2013 Acts 8.29<\/li>

    • Convicts \u2013 John 16.8<\/li>
    • Empowers \u2013 Acts 8.1<\/li>
    • Leads \u2013 Romans 8.14<\/li><\/ul>
