Stop Saying It’s Out Of My Control

It is.

Who do we think we are anyway? can you guarantee your next breath? can you determine the actions and words of others?

Hasn’t the last six months taught us just how little control we have?

And who wants it anyway – its so exhausting, frustrating, debilitating.

Here’s what you can control – believe me its enough to keep you busy.

  1. You can control your response.
  2. You can control own actions.
  3. You make your own choices – even if something happens TO you – you choose how you deal with it – oh and by the way, not making a choice is a choice. 😉
  4. You can control how you plan your day.
  5. You control how you spend your? Money.
  6. You control what you wear today.
  7. You control what you eat today – no more excuses. 😊
  8. You control the level of engagement you have with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  9. You control what you say, and how you say it.
  10. You control what you post……….
  11. You choose who you spend time with – yes even at your job – because you can leave your job.
  12. You choose to walk in integrity or, not.
  13. Your reaction to the work of the enemy.

Here’s what you can’t control – but don’t worry God’s got this – and to be honest he can have it 😊– I’m gunna sit back and just thank Him for the freedom to live in it.

  1. The weather
  2. The stock markets
  3. Housing prices
  4. Other people’s actions
  5. Other people’s words
  6. Unforeseen circumstances despite 3 & 4 in first list.
  7. Your final breath
  8. Traffic
  9. Change
  10. The Past (but you can control how you react, view and use the past)
  11. The Future – you can’t add a single second
  12. What other people feel including love or their happiness —–think on that a moment —sometimes I think I can.
  13. Getting Old – Come on you know you want control over that. 😊
  14. Where we came from – thankfully we can control where we are going.
  15. We can’t control lost time

I’m sure you can add to both lists.  The reason I’m writing this is to give you a good ole’ wake up and point you to the Word of God so you might be free to LIVE each day how He intended you to.

We make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go. Proverbs 16.9 CEV

God makes everything happen at the right time…Everything God has done will last forever, nothing he does can ever be changed. Ecclesiastes 3.11,14

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46.1

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Luke 12.26

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God – soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face.  He’s my God. Psalm 42.11

Thank you for your encouragement, Carolyn. I love the simplicity and practicality of your messages. I’m reminded of Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT). “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
It is so reassuring to know that the greatest burdens or biggest worries are not ours to carry. And the other bits we can handle as they come along, with our Heavenly Father’s guidance as an extra support ❤️

This is a great verse – thanks Janique.
May the Bless you today as you place those worrisome worries on his shoulders, allowing you to live peacefully with the joy of the Lord in your life.
