GiANT

GiANT

I was praying through this scripture whilst praying through a pray strategy for one of my sons,

David said to the Giant, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.  This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off you head.  This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whol world will know that there is a God in Israel. 1 Samuel 17:45-46

Now over the last few weeks I’ve prayed this almost daily and I’ve read this scripture many times in my life, but the other day I got a connection – probably more accurate to say another string to the bow of a connection.

David said to the Giant…

David said to the Giant…

David said to the GiANT…

David said to the giANT…

David said to the ANT…

David said to the ant………

“pfft – you come with your little body, your measly little pincers and your insignificant self – I step on ants like you by the multitude, you are NOTHING to me.”

WOAH, WOAH, WOAH – Hold the phone – WHAT?

David wasn’t facing a GIANT – the army of Israel was facing a GIANT – but David was facing an ant.  Was it 9 foot tall, armoured, bellowing, YEAP, it was, but David saw it from God’s view and perspective.

David wasn’t even really brave – it wasn’t even a great accomplishment in and of itself (how he got to that perspective was), it wasn’t very much at all for Dave the shepherd boy.

David was even perplexed by the army of Israel and King Saul’s insistence of him wearing armour.

David didn’t see the slaying of an ant a miracle – for him it was part of his everyday.

Oh, if only you could be like David, not Saul or Dave’s bros (who incidentally weren’t shocked by David behaviour just ridiculed it – like they had many times)

There are many articles, ministries, Psalm’s and scripture that tell you how David ended up having that perspective and through it slaying that giant.

Today though I want you to start saying ANT instead – an seemingly insurmountable circumstance (a Giant) be it health, finance or relationship related, comes into your life or develops in your life – start calling it as it really, really is – an ant – see it from God’s perspective.

Don’t spend hours or days in strategy living in fear – tell that circumstance that giant the TRUTH – nothing is impossible for those how love the Lord (Luke 1.37), that your God is the creator of all things (John 1:1-3), that your God is a just judge (Ps 7:111), He is the provider (Acts 14.7)…..

Tell that circumstance (Giant) that in fact it is only really an ant and that you are going to continue on with your day, life as David did -back to his normal – shepherding sheep, singing and praising God.
